It wasn’t the day the Portage girls golf team was hoping for on, as all five varsity golfers struggled on their way to 224-206 loss to Baraboo in a Badger North Conference match played at the Baraboo Country Club on Monday.
As a team, we didn’t take advantage of our good tee shots and when we got out of position, we magnified the mistake with another error,” Portage head coach Ed Carlson said.
Turning in the low round of the day for Portage was junior MacKenzie Roth, who carded a 16-over-par 52.
Roth recorded a quadruple bogey on the hole, and as a team, Portage’s varsity five played the hole at 16 over par.
Freshmen Sophie Denure and Maddie Mumm had the next two lowest scores for Portage, as both girls finished with 20-over-par rounds of 56.
